September 2001 Web Site Launch: GamesOver.org Develops Online Community for Retired Professional Athletes.

GamesOver.org, a non profit organization dedicated to serving and meeting the transitional needs of professional athletes when they leave the game, is truly the only organization of it's kind. There is no other organization like GamesOver.org in the United States.

The idea came from a retired pro athlete named Ken Ruettgers who played 12 years in the NFL as an offensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers. Ken found many challenges to "life after football" that he was sure many, if not all, retired athletes face. After one long year of researching and interviewing several professional football players, Ken is now positive that a network should be developed to bring newly retired athletes together on the Internet to help one another transition from the professional sports arena to other professional and unfamiliar arenas.

Retired athletes can logon to GamesOver.org and find real mentors who have been down the road their traveling and can help them through the rough parts. They can come to read valuable articles, take a transition test, ask personal questions to retired pro athletes by email or in a discussion room. GamesOver.org is designed to be a "cyber locker room" that ex-players can get new game books for the rest of their lives.

See some pictures of Ken as he and other retired pro athletes engage in a quest to help their fellow athletes conquer their hardest challenge - retirement.
