GamesOver.org User Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to GamesOver.org. We strive to keep your personal information confidential. By ensuring that you are aware of and understand the GamesOver.org Customer Privacy Policy, we can provide you with better service. Please take a moment to read the following policy to learn how we handle your personal information.

Why we collect personal information
GamesOver.org collects your personal information strictly for your benefit. Your personal information is not shared with anyone without your knowledge. GamesOver.org uses your personal information to store and track test results, to deliver your preferred content (articles, columns, etc.), and help you connect to other GamesOver.org users. We do not sell any personal information or email addresses and we keep all information strictly confidential.

How we collect personal information
Information is collected in many ways. From the beginning when you register at GamesOver.org, a form collects basic information. At other places throughout the GamesOver.org web site, information is gathered by several methods:

Transition Test: Collects information on your Transition from professional sports and uses the collected data to route you to relevant content for personal growth.

Success Test: Information gathered in this test gives you the ability to track your answers over time.

G.O. Poll: The G.O. Poll are both Transition Test questions and other interesting questions that allows you to see what percentages of retired athletes think on particular issues.

MyLocker: Designed to place your favorite content in one convenient place, MyLocker gathers your preferences for delivering content to you.

General Information: All phone numbers, addresses, names, email addresses, and all other information is gathered strictly for internal management purposes at GamesOver.org.

The GamesOver.org web site asks you to create an "GamesOver ID" using your personal information. Here's how it works: Simply fill out a brief profile—your name, phone number, and email address—then choose a password and password hint (such as the month and day of your birth) for security. The system saves your information and assigns you a personal GamesOver.org ID.

When we disclose personal information
Your personal information WILL NOT be disclosed to anyone unless you specifically allow permission. This disclosure will only be done in the process of connecting you with an Advisor, Counselor, Mentor or another GamesOver administrator, and will be done only with your consent. Any time GamesOver.org discloses your personal information to other people in the GamesOver network, you will be alerted to this fact prior to the disclosure and you will have to approve the transaction of that information.

At times we may be required by law or legal process to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we believe that disclosure is necessary for the public interest.

How we protect your personal information
GamesOver.org safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. We urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often, use a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure browser.

GamesOver.org uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required. To use the GamesOver.org web site, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer. This protects the confidentiality of your personal information while it is transmitted over the Internet.

Access to your personal information
You always have access to the information we have about you. To review and update your personal contact information, simply click "Edit Profile" next to your name on the GamesOver.org home page.
